David Aplin Group has partnered with a Halifax based company to find an experienced Procurement Specialist to join their team.

Responsibilities:
  • Pre-contract activity including:
    • Program wide stakeholder engagement to identify requirement
    • Supplier Qualification, tender process, RFI, RFP, RFP with vendors
    • Tender evaluations
    • Contract negotiation and to agree robust commercial agreements for the company and the client
  • Supplier management including:
    • Develop and improve supplier quality, cost, and delivery performance
  • Contract management including:
    • Execution of negotiated contract through Enterprise Resource Planning & Material Resource Planning systems
  • Integrated sourcing initiatives including:
    • Develop and implement category sourcing strategies
    • Analyze market conditions (ex: pricing, availability, lead-time and capacity)
  • Continuous improvement including:
    • Support new product introduction activities
    • Apply the principles of continuous improvement to the design and development of supply chain processes
    • Undertake cost analysis for direct material and services
    • Issue POs for material

Qualifications:
  • University degree required
  • 5+ years of relevant work experience in a procurement, supply chain or engineering function
  • Procurement/Supply Chain accreditation: SCMP, MCIPS or ISM would be an asset
  • Defence experience would be an asset
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Strong sense of urgency to complete tasks
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • High attention to detail
  • Previous exposure to market analytics and insights
  • Excellent Microsoft Office Suite skills
