David Aplin Group, one of Canada's Best Managed Companies, has partnered with our client to recruit a Senior Network Analyst who will be responsible for overseeing network and communication environments, including routing, switching, security, and communication tools. You will provide guidance on the core applications and recommend the design and support services for the company.
This is a permanent role available to candidates in the Edmonton area.
Manage support of the company’s LAN/WAN networks and Datacenter
Build and maintain company network design and architecture documentation
Maintain WAN connections and other connectivity requirements to interlink all business locations
Maintain the network environments that support business applications including hardware and software to ensure maximum uptime that meets business requirements and industry standards
Monitor network resources on an ongoing basis to ensure uptime, including router, internet circuits, MPLS network, Core switching, Firewall, and Wireless components
Work with the Operations and Customer Solutions teams to establish preventive and corrective maintenance activities to maximize platform availability, quality, and performance
Build and maintain application delivery infrastructure and processes to support business requirements.
Maintain equipment firmware and ensure the configuration is up to date
Cross-train and provide knowledge transfer to other less experienced technical resources
Lead projects through the stages of high-level design, scope definition, detail design, and delivery planning
Escalate problems and issues to Senior IS and Corporate Leadership as needed to minimize risk and ensure projects and initiatives deliver expected outcomes
Configuring connectivity devices and maintaining inventory of network devices
Troubleshoot connectivity issues and make recommendations on how job site connectivity can be optimized
Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems or related field
5+ years of experience or a suitable combination of education and experience
CCNA or equivalent experience
Advanced knowledge related to LAN/WAN computer environments including TCP/IP, DNS, cabling, and wireless connectivity
Comprehensive understanding of networking components and core infrastructure (hardware/software)
Advanced knowledge of Unified Communication solutions i.e., VOIP/Zoom Phone
Advanced knowledge of Firewall configurations and optimizations i.e.Fortinet
Knowledge of Cisco/Cisco Meraki equipment – routers, switches, phones, wireless, VPN, etc.
Extensive experience providing Tier III level support to customers
Technical skills with Citrix and VMware would be considered an asset
Experience in dealing with 3rd party vendors
Experience in security solutions and best practices
