Join a top employer and advance your career. David Aplin Group has partnered with our client to recruit a Senior IT Contracts Specialist who will be responsible for preparing, negotiating, and administering IT contracts for consulting services, cloud computing, outsourcing, and software.
This is a 12-month contract available to candidates in the Vancouver, Calgary, and Toronto area.
Implement agreements with strategic suppliers with a $10M - $50M+ contract value
Liaise between internal groups & suppliers, acting as a central point of contact for contractual issues
Lead and manage a group of matrixed team members including senior managers and directors across the enterprise (Legal, Risk, Tax, Finance, Procurement, and T&I) as well as supplier account teams
Provide Subject Matter Expertise for consulting, cloud and software spend from initiation of requirements, engagement of suppliers for proposals, coordination of financial documents, engagement of Procurement, interaction with Legal, presentation of a contract to executives for signoff, etc.
Develop trusted advisor relationships and provides leadership and valued contracting advice to facilitate the effective management and completion of procurement initiatives
Draft and review IT vendor contracts independently or in partnership with legal counsel including but not limited to consulting services agreements and SOWs, software end user license agreements, maintenance-support agreements, outsourced service level agreements, hardware, and cloud-based services agreements
Take a leadership role in the preparation of responses to solicitations
Mentor more junior IT Contracts Management Specialists with contract negotiation
Bachelor’s degree in the Supply Chain, Business Administration, Logistics, Finance, Engineering, or related discipline required
10+ years’ experience in leading contract negotiation, pricing, and procurement activities
Background in or general knowledge of information technology hardware and software
A deep understanding of IT contracting and commercial concepts and processes, coupled with strong negotiation skills and the dexterity to lead complex commercial negotiations
Experience in contracts management and/or supply chain operations, with demonstrated capability in strategy development, contract drafting and negotiation, supplier relationship and performance management, and strategic sourcing
Experience in successfully leading large cross-functional or multi-disciplinary teams to develop and execute projects, initiatives, strategies, or other large opportunities and drive superior results and value creation
Strong skills in time management, handling multiple tasks, setting priorities, timely written communication, and meeting deadlines
Basic understanding of accounting (accruals, payment cycle, capitalization, budgeting)
