Working within this organization means always looking at ways to be better. The FP&A team is responsible for the forecasts and analysis of all companies within the company umbrella. Through a financial lens, FP&A acts as a partner to the business units to assist in decision-making.
As a member of the Financial Planning & Analysis team, you will work as a partner to a variety of business units’ suites of companies. As the financial liaison to your portfolio of business units, you will build forecast models, assist in M&A and investment opportunities, and provide analysis to assist teams in their decision-making process.
Providing general analysis on the financial health of business units/companies – highlighting risks and opportunities.
Assisting business units with assumption modelling for forecasts.
Producing forecasts that reflect the best information on hand at the time.
Helping the business unit prepare for board presentations.
When required assist in analyzing investment and M&A opportunities.
Providing the business unit with variance analysis and providing direction where there are discrepancies between any of actuals, forecasts or budget.
Meeting with business leads to review actuals and to ensure all forecast assumptions are up to date and address any discrepancies in projections compared to what has happened.
Completing ad hoc reporting and analysis requests.
Conducting and sharing proactive analysis based on business gaps and trends.
Adjusting the financial structure of the company to meet ever-changing requirements.
Working with the accounting team to ensure billings, payables and payroll for the departments are processed accurately and are properly reflected in the financial statements
The Ideal Candidate:
Minimum 2-4 years directly in an FP&A role
Merger and Acquisition experience is an asset
Strong understanding of reporting structures
Experience with financial modelling
Experience within SAAS or Payments industry is an asset
The ability to work with NetSuite PBCS is an asset
Have a go-getter attitude- you don’t wait to be told what to do
You are not afraid to try new things, fail, succeed, and improve along the way
Approach people and problems with humility
Appreciate and recognize diversity; listen to others and consider all perspectives
