Join a top employer and advance your career. Our client, a leader in their field, has partnered with Mary Cyriac, Recruitment Consultant at David Aplin Group to hire a Manager of Talent and Succession Management based in Halifax, Nova Scotia.

 

This position will report to the Director, of Talent Management. As the Manager, of Talent, and Succession Management the ideal candidate will be at the forefront of overseeing the design and execution of the organization’s Talent Management programs with a specific focus on leadership development, talent pipeline, succession planning, and the annual talent review process.


Responsibilities: 

  • Lead the ongoing development of talent and succession management. This would include designing programs to enable the identification, assessment, and active development of talent
  • Function as a thought leader and stay informed of talent management trends and evaluate relevant research aimed at improving talent management processes and programs
  • Identify gaps in existing talent programming and engage partners to drive initiatives that would help the team develop the critical skills and capabilities necessary to achieve organizational goals
  • Facilitate talent planning conversations throughout the organization, providing project and change management oversight
  • Apply an equity, diversity, and inclusion lens to organizational development programs and services to ensure they support a culture of inclusion and align with the organization’s core values
  • Prepare the business for the future by collaborating with the necessary stakeholders to define and develop meaningful succession and workforce planning strategies
  • Act as a resource to HR Business Partners and business leaders; provide advice, counsel, and coaching in methods and opportunities for organizational planning and development to support the achievement of strategic goals and objectives
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of Organizational Development and talent management programs and initiatives across the organization to ensure they are meeting client needs


Qualifications:

  • A degree/diploma in Human Resources, Organizational Development, and Learning or a related discipline is required combined with 8 to 10 years of related professional experience in Human Resources and Organizational Development
  • Previous experience in designing and implementing business-focused talent development and succession programs is considered an asset
  • Solid interpersonal skills, including the ability to convey information coupled with strong business acumen and time management skills in an environment with multiple competing priorities
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and SharePoint is mandatory; experience with other LMS or cloud-based systems will be an asset
  • Knowledge of Agile and Change Management processes, methods, and tools, and project experience is considered an asset
