Reporting directly to the General Manager, this individual will bring proven experience working in a safety-focused environment with an emphasis on safety, development, and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities:
  • Ensure all health and safety policies are followed while meeting overall objectives including reviewing incident reports, inspections, hazard ID reporting, and attending safety meetings and inspections
  • Ensure measurement balances are maintained and stewarded, which includes creating and maintaining the necessary manual
  • Work closely with superintendents in monitoring and reporting on overall system performance and volumetric balances
  • Support engineering and operations teams in the same and efficient design, construction, commissioning, as well as startup and maintenance activities including HAZOP’s and risk reviews
  • Develop and manage maintenance budget including accruals, forecasts, and approval of invoices and purchase orders
  • Maintain work and work order prioritization utilizing a computerized maintenance management system
  • Develop a maintenance staffing plan including recruiting, hiring, training, and scheduling the maintenance team to be prepared for the commissioning and efficient ongoing operation of assets
  • Coach and mentor direct reports in the development of goals, priorities, action plans, training, and personal development aligned with realizing strategic goals
  • Ensure an appropriate level of emergency response preparedness through regular training, equipment management, and ongoing communication with mutual aid and emergency services groups
  • Maintain knowledge of AER and OH&S regulations, as well as guidelines established by the CSA B31.3 & Z662 regulatory agencies
Qualifications:
  • Millwright, Electrical, or Instrumentation certification required
  • An additional Technical Certificate, Diploma, or Degree will be considered an asset
  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience with a minimum of 5 years’ experience in a supervisory capacity
  • Health, Safety, and Environment training and experience
  • Demonstrated leadership skills including staff planning, hiring, training, development, compensation reviews, and performance management
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Health, Safety, and Environmental policies with a high level of ethical standards and adherence to code of conduct
  • Exceptional organizational and administrative skills
  • Excellent writing, presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills to interact with numerous stakeholders
