Reporting to the Director, Human Resources the successful candidate will act as a trusted advisor to leaders across Canada. You will bring to the table a pragmatic and consultative approach, coupled with the ability to work in a fast paced, high volume environment. You will engage daily in business conversations in the areas of leadership development, performance & talent management, career planning and consulting on risk and employee relations matters. Lastly, you will work collaboratively within a team environment to lead and manage key national projects.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide exceptional coaching and consulting to business leaders across the organization through direction, support and guidance on all people related issues including performance management and career development 
  • Provide policy interpretation and handle employee relations issues by assisting in problem resolution
  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to human resources; works with legal counsel as required
  • Support the due diligence process, facilitate and provide guidance on business unit restructures and the integration of mergers & acquisitions
  • Lead and/or participate in national HR programs and ad hoc key projects

Requirements:
  • A bachelor’s degree in related field; business administration, industrial relations or the completion of a professional development program in human resources
  • 5-7 years’ experience in  HR consulting and HR program management
  • Demonstrated knowledge of applicable human resources law and strategies for compliance 
  • Proven ability to achieve goals on budget and timeline while managing strong customer focus activities
  • Strong Excel capabilities including pivots, graphs and translating data to insights
  • Exceptional communication skills, both verbally and in writing
  • Ability to coordinate daily tasks and ongoing projects effectively and efficiently within specified timeframes
  • Demonstrated experience solving problems based on analysis, collaborating to reach solutions and displaying a curious and learning focused nature
  • Ability to function well in a dynamic, virtual and demanding work environment while remaining positive and focused
