Do you enjoy policy related-work as well as leading company-wide projects? Stacey Danley, Partner with David Aplin Group is working with our client, a growing manufacturing facility on the southside of Winnipeg, recruiting for an HR Generalist. Reporting to the HR Manager, the successful candidate will work closely with the HR team on policy development, training, health and safety and other ad hoc projects.

Responsibilities:
  • Co-chair the Policy committee and collaborate with the HR Manager on developing new HR policies and procedures
  • Research best practices and ensure current HR policies are up-to-date and compliant
  • Provide clear interpretation of policies to leaders as needed
  • Develop and enhance employee handbook
  • Identify training needs for the organization and assist in the development of training programs
  • Prepare grant proposals to secure training-related funding
  • Design and rollout employee engagement survey and track results
  • Lead projects related to succession planning and engagement
  • Lead community and social responsibility projects
  • Collaborate with the Health and Safety manager on related projects
  • Provide back up for full-cycle recruitment
  • Produce accurate and relevant metrics and reports
Qualifications:
  • Post-secondary education in Human Resources
  • 2+ years of experience in a coordinator, advisor, or generalist capacity
  • Previous experience in a unionized manufacturing environment is an asset
  • Demonstrated expertise in developing and managing relationships with a variety of stakeholders, both internal and external
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong analytical, problem solving, and decision-making skills
  • Must be able to self-manage daily duties and time in a fast-paced, dynamic, changing environment
  • Ability to organize and follow-up multiple tasks/details with accuracy and timeliness
  • Ability to listen and maintain patience during difficult situations
  • Ability to effectively interact with employees at all levels of the organization and work with a variety of people from diverse backgrounds
  • Ability to work independently and with a team
