This role provides a unique opportunity to expand your HR career alongside a growing organization. Please note there will be travel involved in this role. The successful candidate must be open to traveling within Canada for work.
  • Coordinates with hiring managers to identify staffing needs and determine selection criteria
  • Sources potential candidates through online channels, e.g., social platforms and professional networks
  • Creates interview and selection procedures, including screening calls, assessments and conducts in-person/virtual interviews
  • Assess candidate information, including resumes and contact details through ADP
  • Prepares all new job descriptions and maintains/updates existing descriptions as the organization expands
  • Leads employer branding initiatives; organizes and leads job fairs and corporate branding initiatives
  • Forecasts quarterly and annual hiring needs by department
  • Fosters long-term relationships with past applicants and potential candidates
  • Ensures the corporate values and Pillars of Excellence are understood, embraced, and implemented by management and employees and personally demonstrates the same in daily interactions and relationships
  • Identifies, recommends and updates best practices for employee attraction, recruitment, retention, engagement, performance management, and progressive discipline
  • Implements proactive and innovative human resource practices and provides direction, training, and coaching to assist management with the effective execution of key initiatives and processes
  • Ensures all managers and employees are familiar with and abide by HR policies, guidelines, and programs, and provides instruction and interpretation as required
  • Provides guidance to management on provincial employment standards, employment law, workers’ compensation, OH&S, human rights, and privacy protection
  • Spearheads Temporary Foreign Worker program from application through to successful onboarding and ongoing follow up
  • Working towards the goal of being an employer of choice, proactively managing employee relations and emerging issues identifying gaps and lessons learned, and following through with innovative people initiatives that bring us closer to our goal
  • Conducts, measures, and reports on exit interviews and overall KPIs related to retention and turnover
  • Assists the Director of Corporate Services with the identification of human resource practices that will increase engagement
  • Develops and maintains up-to-date organizational charts for the company, divisions, and departments
  • Prepares regular reports and analyses on employee headcount, recruitment, retention, turnover, leave of absences, performance development, diversity, and other key performance indicators for the department and company
  • Assists with team-building activities along with community-focused corporate social responsibility initiatives
  • At least five years’ progressive HR Generalist experience, preferably supporting services functions spread across multiple locations
  • Success in delivering excellent results fulfilling recruitment requests for a variety of positions
  • Proven ability to build consultative partnerships with internal customer groups, along with strong interpersonal relationships throughout the organization
  • A solid understanding of overall business strategies and how human resources can best support those strategies
  • Action-oriented and self-driven
  • Able to exercise diplomacy, influence, collaborate, and practice sound judgement
  • Adaptable to change and able to work and prioritize in a fast-paced environment
  • Client-service focused, with a can-do, team-based attitude
  • Willing and able to travel out to the field to deliver training, provide face-to-face support and build relationships
