Our Winnipeg-based client has partnered with Deborah Sutherland, Consultant, Sales & Marketing to lead their next search for an experienced and well-connected business development specialist whose close contacts are the first to know about upcoming major industrial, civil, and commercial construction projects in Manitoba and Sudbury, ON.

Responsibilities
  • Create and execute a business development strategy designed to generate new business
  • Have a pulse of what is happening in the upcoming construction developments in the MB region (Sudbury, too) while building rapport with key stakeholders 
  • Develop new business leads through cold calling, networking, participation in various industry associations and professional groups
  • Collaborate with multiple internal partners, teams, and stakeholders
  • Gaining early market intelligence and staying informed of what competitors are doing
  • Provide input and strategy to marketing and proposals teams
Qualifications
  • 10 + years of relevant BD experience in construction, land development, engineering, or commercial real estate organization
  • True hunter-mentality with an engaging, affable, and charismatic personality
  • Self-directed, competitive, and highly motivated people need only apply
  • Extensive construction experience
  • Preexisting relationships with key players in Commercial Construction are considered a huge asset 
  • Knowledge of the bidding process from pre-spec to final negotiations
  • Understanding of how to sell a value proposition
  • Ability to travel as necessary
