Our client is a manufacturer who offers education and equipment that are sought after by clients around the globe, from fitness and wellness to rehabilitation, health care, hospitality and more.  As the HR Director, you are a self-motivated leader who has a strong background in handling the day to day and strategic elements of Human Resources; talent acquisition and onboarding, engagement and leadership, total compensation and rewards, and legislative compliance. You will be a hands-on relationship builder charged with engaging team members and building a great culture.


  • Provide exceptional coaching and consulting to business leaders across the organization through direction, support and guidance on all people related issues
  • Partner with the leadership team to formulate, develop, implement, and evaluate an HR talent management strategy to achieve the organization’s goals and to create value to stakeholders
  • Regularly engage in direct communication with senior leadership regarding key human resources matters
  • Oversee talent acquisition to ensure that the organization is effectively and efficiently sourcing and selecting the right candidates
  • Develop and drive talent management strategies to ensure effective staff alignment with the needs of the business. Identify ways to increase staff retention and productivity including strategies to enhance employee engagement, leadership, staff development, regular feedback and coaching, career pathing and promoting a coherent organizational culture
  • Lead the effective and efficient administration of the performance management process making sure that the organizations managers are equipped to engage in constructive and ongoing feedback and coaching as well as encouraging staff to actively participate in identifying and addressing performance gaps
  • Mitigate legal risk to the organization through proactive training and education, establishing clear systems and processes for managing conflicts with and between employees, oversee the handling and investigation of employee relations
  • Maintain current knowledge and application of all relevant laws and regulations at the provincial and federal level relating to employment and ensure organizational compliance. This includes educating and advising managers and senior leaders on HR related and legal regulatory matters and ensuring HR programs, practices and policies are aligned
  • Design and implement a competitive compensation system and program to attract and retain staff
  • Partner with leadership to develop a total rewards pay program, regularly review compensation and benefits market data, monitor pay practices and proactively address issues  


  • Post-secondary education preferred with CHRL designation
  • 7-10 years progressive HR business partner experience
  • Demonstrated ability to set and communicate a strategic vision, strong leadership capability
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to effectively influence and build strong relationships with multiple stakeholders
  • Proven ability to impact and influence at all levels of the organization to achieve optimal outcomes
  • Strong business acumen
  • Ability to develop and implement HR strategies while balancing the day-today tactical HR needs.
  • Proven ability to interpret, evaluate and apply regulations, policies and procedures to a wide variety of work situations
  • Must have strategic approach and be very interested in the challenge of shaping the talent growth strategy of an evolving company
  • Able to think analytically about the HR function and develop metrics and measures to evaluate programs
