Deskside Technician

If you are a talented and experienced Deskside Technician, David Aplin Group has partnered with an Ottawa, Ontario-based company for a one-year contract with a strong possibility of extensions. The successful incumbent will install, configure, move, set up, and provide ongoing support to all staff for desktop and laptop computers. 

Responsibilities: 

• Provide technical problem-solving guidance and advice to users in person and remotely by phone
• Install and configure software
• Provide input in the creation and ongoing maintenance of a knowledge base on technical issues
• Deliver high-quality customer service to users within service levels
• Provide input into the ongoing amendment of supporting standards, guidelines, and documentation
• Support project initiatives related to the organization’s desktop environment
• Provide support as needed in the Asset Management process
• Other related activities and deliverables as required

Qualifications: 

• University Degree or College Diploma in an IT-related field
• Minimum 3 years of recent work experience in an IT service desk environment supporting Windows 10
• Demonstrated experience with SCCM and Active Directory
• A minimum of 3 years of demonstrated customer service experience
• Demonstrated experience with a Desktop hardware evergreen
• Strong attention to detail and ability to ensure accuracy under pressure
• Demonstrated experience interacting with individuals at various levels in an organization
• The ability to acquire a Secret Security Clearance is required
• Being proficient in speaking in French would be considered a strong asset
