The Data & Reporting Architect’s primary responsibility is the growth and support of the Enterprise Data Strategy. The Data & Reporting Architect is a technical figure responsible for the design of data structures, the development of reports, data warehousing framework.  Using Azure SQL, Azure Data Factory, TSQL, and Power BI you will turn data into information and create tools to solve the business needs and drive insight to all levels of the organization.  You will provide support for the enterprise applications team as required and collaborate on the design and creation of new tools and technologies.
 
The Data & Reporting Architect must be an excellent communicator and will be the principal resource in managing the full lifecycle of the design & development of business intelligence projects.
 
Responsibilities:
  • Grow & lead the enterprise data strategy
  • Define and implement technical solutions involving Business intelligence tools and data warehouse growth and development. Including the integration with other applications and projects
  • Safeguard the data integrity of the Enterprise Applications environment by managing the development, testing, and implementation of solutions
  • Perform technical development using a variety of technologies (Power BI, SQL, SSRS, ETL, Excel, & more)
  • Develop excellent working relationships with business units, vendors, and a variety of consultants
  • Maintain and expand knowledge of the application & data ecosystem and data from internal & external sources
  • Write Data factory, SQL queries, procedures, views, etc. to support various data strategies
  • Troubleshoot & support data and reporting problems, ensure the appropriate resources are engaged in resolution, and follow up on incidents
  • Provide guidance to management on the strategic and tactical use of business intelligence tools and strategies for today and the future
  • Write and maintain documents related to design, implementation, and operating practices
  • Perform other duties as required
Qualifications:
Post-secondary degree or diploma in Computer Science or a related field
Minimum 5 years’ experience as a Data & Reporting Architect including demonstrable ability to design, implement, and support data strategy roadmaps
Hands-on Data Governance Platform experience is considered an asset
Experience in reporting development using a variety of tools & programming languages (Azure Data Factory, Power BI, SQL, SSRS, Excel, .NET)
Experience using ETL tools to migrate and transform data
Experience using software methodologies (both waterfall and agile) through the entire software lifecycle
Ability to manage numerous tasks of varying scale and priority
Strong analytical abilities, with the ability to identify problems, determine issues and implement solutions, often within a time-sensitive framework
Good planning skills, including the ability to organize, prioritize, and execute within a time-sensitive framework
Excellent interpersonal skills and effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to clearly communicate ideas and proposals and to discuss technical issues with non-technical clients
Fluent in English, both written and spoken
Experience with the Infor suite of products (e.g. M3, MEC (M3-E-collaborator) XM, d/EPM, Birst, Stream Serve, Infor OS) is considered an asset
Knowledge of Enterprise Service Bus and integration methodologies supporting an assortment of enterprise on-premises and cloud-based platforms is considered an asset
Knowledge of Machine learning is considered an asset
Must have and maintain a valid Driver’s License (other than a motorcycle), with the ability to travel between the Company’s locations and willing to accept temporary assignment(s) to additional Company locations
Ability to be accessible as required (via company cell phone) to provide after-hours support to corporate employee end-users as required
