As the Compensation Specialist, you will manage various aspects of our client's compensation program, including plan design, analysis, budgeting, and administration for all employees including executives, salaried exempt staff, and hourly nonexempt trade employees.
This is a Permanent opportunity available to candidates in the Calgary and Edmonton area.

Collaborate with Human Resources Director and senior leadership on compensation program, plans and policies to ensure compliance
Monitor effectiveness of existing compensation structure, policies, guidelines, and procedures, recommending plan revisions consistent with compensation trends and company objectives; coordinate implementation and provide guidance to staff
Perform job description analyses for compensation, organizational comparisons, and internal and external equity
Participate in market and industry salary surveys and conduct analysis of exempt and nonexempt compensation to ensure company compensation objectives are met
Lead administration of the Employee Share Ownership Program (ESOP) including annual offering, dispositions, and key contact for account managers and employees
Work with HRIS and payroll staff to ensure the HCM system meets compensation needs and is updated to reflect changes to salary structures, bonus programs, etc. Provide technical data-handling support
Assist with the development and administration of various aspects of staff and executive compensation, including salary, annual Short-term Incentive Plan (STIP) bonus program, annual salary review, and Employee Share Ownership Plan (ESOP) awards
Manage union and nonunion trade employee compensation plans
Proactively audit internal and external data transmissions and conduct various daily, weekly, biweekly, and quarterly audits utilizing reporting and BI tools to ensure the integrity of HCM and payroll data, minimize the impact on downstream processes, transactions, and analysis and support internal and external auditors
Data analysis, reporting, and technical support to establish and maintain standardization and consistency, ensure data integrity, and proactively support company objectives and HR strategy, programs, policies, and procedures
5+ years of progressive compensation and programs experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Self-starter and have strong management and leadership skills and be capable of managing projects and tasks successfully to completion
Experience in the administration of the Employee Share Ownership Program (ESOP) is an asset.
Certified Employee Benefit Specialist (CEBS) and Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) or Advanced Certified Compensation Professional (ACCP) – Canada is an asset
