As the Business Systems Manager, you will provide leadership for the implementation and continuous improvement of the core business applications and systems.   You will work closely with all business units to ensure they have highly effective applications and processes to provide customers with the highest levels of service while growing the business profitably.   You will lead the selection and implementation of new cross-functional business applications, integrating them with existing systems.
 
Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain highly collaborative relationships with stakeholders at all levels of the organization to understand business/vision/goals, and to design, develop and deploy the best solutions to positively impact profitability, strategic growth, and operational effectiveness
  • Responsible for software development, integration, and maintenance across multiple business technology platforms, including the ERP system
  • Managing the IT project portfolio; working closely with IT and business leadership, and business users to prioritize and reprioritize projects; establishing and following a project in-take process; capacity planning and reporting on project status
  • Streamline business processes and identify opportunities to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of the business, with an eye toward cost savings and reduction of manual effort through automation
  • Lead planning meetings for ERP development, and other development and project meetings as required
  • Providing team leadership, which includes oversight, coaching, recruitment, developing talent, and performance management
  • Managing the workload of and maintaining relationships with software development partners and contractors
  • Apply project methodologies, as well as frameworks such as Agile to deploy solutions in a timely and effective manner
  • Participate in technology selection, planning, and coordination work to federate, harmonize, or integrate business systems. Think ahead of current business needs so that solutions scale and support the future
Qualifications:
  • Degree or diploma in computer science, information technology, business, or equivalent experience
  • At least two years’ experience in manufacturing, CPG, or a food and beverage environment
  • Highly proficient with Microsoft 365 applications, particularly Excel, Visio, Teams, and project management tools
  • Highly proficient with Microsoft Dynamics Business Central, NAV, AX, or D365 Finance & Operations
  • Highly proficient at process documentation and business writing, and very well-organized
  • Experience with ERP implementations and/or upgrades, and experience working with vendor project teams
  • Experience with Microsoft Power Platform (Power BI, Power Apps, Power Automate)
  • Experience with Agile software development
  • Experience with SQL queries, data interchange formats (e.g., CSV, XML), and APIs.
  • Have or are willing to work towards ITIL and/or IIBA and/or PMI certifications
  • Knowledge of Lean Six Sigma would be an asset
  • Knowledge of Dynamics 365 CRM or other CRMs would be an asset
  • Knowledge of Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) and SCADA would be an asset
  • Multi-faceted; ability to think about issues from a business perspective and translate them into technical requirements
