The Business Development Representative, reporting directly to the President, will be client-facing and become a brand ambassador for our client, a leader in mechanical design and the fabrication of complex and large pressure vessels. They will be responsible for marketing, promotion, and sales activities; with an emphasis on establishing and maintaining the business relationships necessary to identify and participate in leading projects for custom steel fabrication of large process equipment. They will also help expand the core capabilities of our client to parallel industry segments - this will require agility, creativity, and an optimistic/positive approach.

Monitor market/industry trends and communicate relevant items to the Executive Committee and other relevant personnel
Prepare a yearly Marketing Plan that supports the company’s strategic plan, and issue periodic progress reports
Maintain positive relationships with key Client/Owner representatives and seek to establish relationships with new Client/Owner representatives. Conduct Client/Owner visits and follow-ups on a regular basis to identify business opportunities and solicit feedback on the company's performance
Respond to Client requests for vendor qualification information, and ensure that relevant company information is provided in a timely manner
Ensure marketing communications (website, social media, corporate profile, brochures, videos, etc.) are up-to-date, consistent with the company’s corporate image, and available to meet the information requirements of current and potential Clients. Ensure promotional items are available and appropriate to maintain the company’s corporate image
Ensure the company’s corporate image is maintained, and best interests are served, at events such as open houses, facility tours, presentations, tradeshows, conferences, etc.
Serve as Client contact for communication of concerns during any stage of a project. Ensure that concerns are communicated to appropriate departments for evaluation, and that an appropriate response is provided to the Client, including initiation of corrective action if necessary
Represent the company at the Alberta Pressure Vessel Manufacturers Association (APVMA), and fulfill associated assignments
Technical degree or diploma with at least 5 years’ experience in an industrial manufacturing environment
Marketing training, seminars, and related continuing educational activities
Contracts training (Drafting of contracts, General Terms and Conditions of Sale, etc.)
Excellent organizational ability and verbal/written communication skills
Ability to facilitate meetings and make presentations
Proficiency with computers (Microsoft Word, Excel, Visio)
Ability to interact effectively with Clients and employees
